We mediate your foreign internship in South Africa tailor-made: we customize your internship fully to your personal wishes combined with the requirements of your university. We guide you from A to Z to organize your internship in South Africa.

4exchange internship: step by step
You have chosen for organizing your internship with 4exchange, what happens next?

It starts with your registration. You will read the terms and conditions, fill in the application form and send it to us.
As soon as we have received your application form, we send you a confirmation and we will start to find a work placement that suits you. We also agree together whether you would like us to mediate for other things as well (accommodation, internship supervision, etc.)
As soon as we found a work placement which we think suits your wishes and the university's requirements best, we contact you immediately. We consult you about the work placement and we agree about the next steps that have to be taken by us and by you.
We will consult with the company or organization again and will put you in contact with them. We will help you drawing up the internship contract in which states your internship period, your tasks and other important things regarding you and your internship in South Africa. It is your responsibility to make sure the company signs the contract and - if that is the case - your university should sign it as well. We will assist you with this.
If the internship contract has been signed, the internship mediation costs will be charged. If something goes wrong before signing the contract or if the work placement does not comply with the study programme requirements (before signing the contract), we help you find another internship company once.
As soon as the mediation costs are paid, we make an actual appointment about your arrival date in Cape Town. Now we will start to find you a nice place to live and we arrange you transport (rental car) if desired. Also we will contact your education about the internship supervision, if you chose for this option.
In the mean time, if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will keep you informed about possible accommodation.
Once you arrive in Cape Town or Port Elizabeth we personally come to pick you up from the airport and take you to the place where you will live during your internship. The first week we help you find your way in the city and the neighbourhood where you live.
During your whole stay in South Africa we will keep you informed about all the activities 4exchange organizes, like social evenings, adventurous outings and various weekend breaks.
We remain your contact and are available for support throughout your time as an intern in South Africa. Do remember that your supervisor from school and you are responsible for the internship process and supervision.
